Paradise for gourmets: the Chestnut Day in Paris

It’s very easy to guess a country with the best gastronomic festivals. Of course, this is France! And, perhaps, the most popular event among gourmets is the Chestnut Day in Paris.

This holiday has being held all over France but just the capital, when it is wrapped with a flavoured smoke of chestnuts grilling at streets and squares, attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world. This interesting event is held every third Sunday of October. In 2012 the holiday will be organized on the 21th of October.

“The Lord of the Rings” and the Symphony Orchestra

Unusual film screenings will be held this autumn in Paris. The big screen will show the movie trilogy “The Lord of the Rings.” And all the music from these films, beloved by millions of viewers around the world, will be played live by a symphony orchestra.

Somebody can regret that many years ago we did not see “The Lord of the Rings” by Stanley Kubrick and listened to the music by The Beatles - such an idea had been seriously considering by the eminent director and the musicians. However, those films that Peter Jackson made after some decades by Tolkien’s novels became the cult movies. Composer Howard Shore has created a brilliant soundtrack which was transformed later into a symphony for chorus, soloists and orchestra.

Slash will present a new album in Paris

The legendary musician Slash who has recently get his personal Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will perform the songs from his new album «Apocalyptic Love» in Paris. Miles Kennedy was invited to the solo project of a former «Guns N ‘Roses» guitarist as a vocalist.

Slash’s decision to turn to this musician was very good. The result of their joint work, reflecting in 13 songs of the new album, was called by critics as “the genuine chemistry between Slash and lead singer, Myles Kennedy”.

Muse will give a concert in Paris

The first single from the new album of British rockers «Muse» «The 2nd Law» will sound at the middle of July as the official hymn of the Olympic Games in London. The album itself, where this song is included as «Survival», will appear in September. And one of the first concerts, where all the songs from «The 2nd Law» can be heard in a live «Muse»’s performance, will be the concert of the group in Paris Bercy on October 18.

Radiohead will perform at Bercy on October 12

Paris saw the performances of many famous musicians of different genres, so it’s rather difficult to surprise a spoiled Parisian public. However, the arrival of a next big star to the city causes quite a stir certainly. In 2012 dozens of popular singers and bands will be performing in Paris, and the legendary British rock band Radiohead, whose concert will be held on October 12 at the Palais des Sports in Bercy, stands out.
